Veikko Kankkonen (born January 5, 1940 in Sotkamo) is a Finnish ski jumper who was active in the 1960's.

Kankkonen earned two ski jumping medals at the 1964 Winter Olympics with a gold in the individual normal hill and a silver in the individual large hill. That same year he won the ski jumping competition at the Holmenkollen ski festival, which also earned him the Holmenkollen medal (Shared with Eero Mäntyranta, Georg Thoma, and Halvor Næs). He also won Four Hills Tournament.

Risto Jussilainen (born June 10, 1975 in Jyväskylä) is a retired Finnish ski jumper. He won a silver medal in the team large hill event at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.

Jussilainen has also won two World Cup events and achieved 16 podium places. He also won seven World Cup events in the Team category (Normal hill, Large hill, and Ski Flying) between 2000 and 2002. Jussilainen also won silver medals in both team events (normal and large hills) at the 2001 Nordic skiing World Championships.

Kauko Esko Järvinen (December 15, 1907 – March 7, 1976) was a Finnish Nordic combined skier, ski jumper, and military patrol competitor (precursor to biathlon) who competed in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

He was born in Lathi and died in Helsinki. He was the younger brother of Erkki Järvinen.

At the 1928 Winter Olympics he finished fourth in the Nordic combined competition and 22nd in the ski jumping event. He also competed in the military patrol event which was held as demonstration sport and finished second with the Finnish team.

He won an individual bronze at the 1929 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane.

Niilo Halonen (born December 25, 1940 in Kouvola) was a former Finnish ski jumper who competed between 1960 and 1967. His biggest success was the silver medal in the individual large hill at the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley.

Halonen also won the bronze medal in the individual large hill at the 1962 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane. He also finished second as well in a normal hill competition in Germany in 1964.

Vesa Hakala (born December 5, 1968 in Harjavalta) is a former Finnish ski jumper who competed from 1986 to 1994. He won a silver medal in the team large hill at the 1991 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme and finished 12th in the individual normal hill at the 1993 championships.

Hakala's best individual career finish was third in the individual large hill in Sapporo in 1990.

Ari-Pekka Nikkola (s. 16. toukokuuta 1969 Kuopio) on mäkihypyn olympiavoittaja. Kilpauransa lopetettuaan hän on toiminut mäkihyppyvalmentajana.

Nikkola aloitti kauden 2006–07 Slovenian B-maajoukkueen valmentajana, mutta nousi A-maajoukkueen päävalmentajaksi 26. tammikuuta 2007, kun Vasja Bajc erotettiin tehtävästä. Nikkolan pesti Sloveniassa päättyi kauden 2007–2008 jälkeen.[1] Nikkola on toiminut myös Suomen B-maajoukkueen valmentajana.

Seuratasolla Nikkola on edustanut Puijon Hiihtoseuraa. Koulutukseltaan hän on autonasentaja. Tällä hetkellä hän opiskelee liikuntaneuvojaksi Rovaniemen urheiluopistolla.

Nikkolan kotipaikkakunnalla Siilinjärvellä järjestetään vuosittain kunnan oman mäkitähden mukaan nimetyt mäkikisat "AaPee-kisat".
