Janne Ahonen´s Farewell ski jump was witnessed by 12000 spectators

"Thank You Janne ! Thank You Janne!" cheared 12 000 spectators as Janne prepared for his last jump in his Farewell Competition which he of course won. With his best and toughest ski jumping friends, Janne put up a magnificent show that left no-one cold at Lahti Ski Stadium.

Earlier during the event Janne´s FIN-TEAM beat WORLD-TEAM in speedless long jump. Janne´s 310 cm was of course the longest individual result.
Janne´s Farewell Competition was honored by many Olympic and World Champions. Matti Nykänen, Marja-Liisa Kirvesniemi, Toni Nieminen, Jouko Törmänen, Niilo Halonen, Pentti Kokkonen. Jari Litmanen and Frankie Fredericks together
with Matti Nykänen and Marja-Liisa Kirvesniemi appeared as measuring-crew in the speedless long jump competition.
